Or maybe not. The Bush Administration remains, to the end, singularly focused on preventing reefer madness, and overriding states’ rights.

The feds contend there are 98 marijuana dispensaries in San Francisco, compared with 71 Starbucks. They even provide a Google map of the supposed locations of both. This allegedly official map has some pot clubs in highly unlikely places, like the top of Nob Hill.

via Feds say S.F. has more pot clubs than Starbucks, but it might not add up

  1. There are 71 Starbucks in SF? That to me is a crisis all its own! What’s doing more damage to society: independently-run marijuana dispensaries for medical patients only, which buy from local growers and support the local economy, or a chain of stores all funneling their profits out?

Since when did Starbucks become the metric for measuring the success of the drug war?

  2. San Francisco I Am has a great video on whether illegal cannabis clubs are really hurting medical marijuana patients with California Attorney General’s recent crackdown down on medical cannabis clubs.

You can check out the video here:

San Francisco IAm also has a lot of other interesting video journalism bringing us stuff that the mainstream media isn’t.
