Fujitu's PalmSecure coming to a store near you

Somebody slap me…. Fujitsu is pressing its way into the booming biometrics business, with a device (right) that reads the veins in your palm to identify you.

Biometric readers, from palm and fingerprint readers to iris and face scanners, will bring retail and Homeland Security even closer together in the next year or so. RFID tags will also play a role in tracking individuals as they go about their daily business.

Remember, it is not just the devices, but the massive biometrics databases the retailers will share with the feds, which pose an imminent threat to privacy.

(More about Fujitsu’s high-powered clothing tag later today.)

Fujitsu (see excerpt from their website, below) see their biometric palm vein readers everywhere:

PalmSecure Sensor : FUJITSU FRONTECH

PalmSecure is a biometric authentication device that provides the highest level of security using palm vein authentication technology.
This technology is now able to be used in a wide range of situations thanks to reductions in size, reductions in cost, and simplification of development.
