NASA today published a forecast for a “big and intense” new solar cycle in 2011 or 2012, which its suggests will wreak havoc on satellite GPS and telecommunications, power grids and air traffic.
NASA says the next solar cycle, Solar Cycle 24, “could make itself felt as never before.”
We are now at the end of Solar Cycle 23 (see graphic, and excerpts, below), according to the U.S. space agency.

The history channel has already made about 3 different documentaries about 2012 and the Mayan prophecies, sneaking it in there.
Very interesting how many “coindences” seem to be predicted to happen on 2012. I was watching the history channels show the universe and they were discussing the sun and how its been predicted to have a large flare on 2012 and maybe change earths magnetic field. Personally I believe the 2012 predictions to be already happening but they will climax on the winter solsistice 2012.

I’m not sure Adrian, but I believe the shifting of our poles is referred to as “reverse magnetism,” and THIS has occurred numerous times in the earth’s history. According to sources, even THAT event does not signal a “doomsday” event . . . unless you’re a “buyer” of the movie “The Core.”

No one ever said the world would end in 2000. There was just the possibility that computers would shutdown. According to the Mayan calendar it’s just the end of a period of 26.000 years, and the start of a new one. I dont know about this end of times date of 2012..but I do know its made me think about my personal life. Even if this date comes and goes, I have made some personal changes and found a beliefe system. Some may say I’m scared and that my faith is based on fear..but really its not. I just believe that we are so caught up in material things and keeping up with the JONEs that we as humans forget to search out what this all means and why we are here… I dont think there is one way… as I like to say “doesn’t matter how you get there…just get there”

Something is brewing, but it’s not the end. If the world were to come to an end what could you do about it anyway? If the world were to be sent into chaos what will you do join in it? I am listening and watching as a witness of what is to come. I am not afraid and will not allow fear to dictate my actions. If you are afraid of the unknown then you must live in fear all the time. Let it all go and live each moment, value every moment, look though the eyes of amazement because everyday no matter how crappy is wonderful you only have to open your heart and mind to it. 2012 will come no matter what, Be Not Afraid. Nostradamus along with other prophets has predicted similar to what the Mayan calendar has. Don’t you think it’s ironic as well as strange that NASA is building this International Space Station and trying to grow plants and crops in space as well as contain a fire. Also doing test to see the affects of gravity on the bones over an “EXTENDED” period of time? Come on now, we can’t all be that closed minded are we..? The destruction of Earth was by water and God predicts fire next time. Well the true alignment will cause all the tetonic plates to shifts and the earth to open wide as volcanoes will erupt unlike anything before time began. Think about it. God is in the heavens and he sacrificed Jesus for us, his cometh is what we could perceive to be an alien. Hmmm.

the world is going to end?? when did we start panicking/thinking about 2012 becoming true ? if it was just this decade then really can it be true i am suspicious of 2012 but from what ive read there are just many different stories and really knowing the end of the world is going to happen well, its a kind of freedom. its a time to m ake up what your going to do in these final days of the earth its not how or why or even when its going to happen its what your gonna do about it you cant just sit around waiting for it to happen and discuss it. take action, do something.

All my life my people has talked about this month of 12 year of 2012. As they have told for many 1000s of years that a great change will come to the earth and to all people at this time. It will not be the end of the world but a new begining. Many will not know how to live without so they will want to die.
